Stress Is Good For You After All

Feeling stressed is perfectly normal. While stress affects everyone in different ways with its effects being mostly negative, there is a beneficial side of moderate stress.

1.Stress helps you boost your memory.
When one is experiencing moderate stress, their body releases a chemical called neurotrophins that strengthens the connection between neurons in the brain making it easier to remember things.

2. Stress helps you fortify the immune system.
When you are stressed your body is prepared for injury or infections therefore it produces interleukins chemicals that help regulate the immune system. Stress also improves how your heart works and hence protects your body from attacks. It has been reported that patients who underwent stress before surgery healed faster than those patients that were not stressed.

3. Stress helps you build a character of resilience
When you are used to experiencing stress every once in a while you are likely to develop both physical and psychological sense of control. You are therefore ready to face challenging situations that life has to offer.

4. It enhances child development
It has been scientifically proved that expectant mothers who experience moderate levels of stress bear children with greater development skills by the age of two years that those who were unstressed. This is however exceptional for mothers who viewed their pregnancy as negative. These mothers bear children with lower attention capacity.

5.Stress is a motivator to success
Just imagine you were never stressed over that exam test or that work deadline or even your house rent; you would just sit fail the test, get fired and get auctioned. Stress over normal day to day needs moves us to meet our goals and eventually succeed.

However stress is beneficial if it is moderate and can be controlled. Critical levels of stress can be dangerous or even fatal.
